The Sked Expedition stretcher is the original flexible stretcher and is still the one of the best solutions for high angle, confined space and technical rescue. Side carry handles also allow the Sked Stretcher to be used for more traditional land based applications when carrying a bulky ridgid stretcher would make reaching the rescue site arduous. The Sked Stretcher was the first of it's kind to use the revolutionary roll up design which provides outstanding patient protection and security.
Sked Stretchers are supplied with equipment for horizontal or vertical hoisting via ropes or helicopter, for casualty extraction from caves or confined industrial spaces. Once the patient has been fastened into the Sked Stretcher, the stretcher becomes rigid. Sked Stretchers are constructed using highly durable plastic which protects the patient while extrication takes place through the most demanding confined spaces.
Sked Stretchers are rolled when in storage, a durable cordura backpack is included with the SK200 Sked Expedition Stretcher kit to allow easy transportation to the rescue site. Once the stretcher has been deployed the backpack doubles as a towing harness.
In addition to the back pack Sked Stretchers also include:
The Sked Stretcher assembly
The special plastic formula Sked Stretcher, which is both flexible and durable. All patient securing straps include steel buckles which are sewn into the stretcher through brass grommets to further contribute to the overall strength and durability.
Horizontal Lift Slings
A pair of 9,000lb / 4 tonne tensile strength slings are supplied to hoist the Sked Stretcher with a rope or helicopter winch / hauling system in a horizontal position.
Steel Locking 'D' Karabiner (Not Included)
The karabiners supplied with the Sked Stretcher are not included for sale in the UK market as they are not CE and EN marked. We can supply a suitable connector upon request, to view our range of Locking Karabiners.

Stretcher Tow Strap
A 6ft / 1.8m webbing strap with bronze snap hooks on each end is supplied, this can be attached to the Sked Stretcher backpack to create a towing harness for use by one or more people.
Removable Webbing Carry Handles
Four removable webbing carry handles are supplied for use in additon to the four fixed carry handles already fitted to the Sked Stretcher, thus allowing the stretcher to be carried by up to 8 rescuers.
