Emergency Rescue and Evacuation training

Course

This full day training course provides the core knowledge required to select,inspect, set up and use safety harnesses and emergency descent equipment foreither Rescue or evacuation.

Course objectives

To enable a delegate to select, setup, inspect and use the following items ofrescue/evacuation equipment. Delegates must have successfully completed arecognised safety harness course.

You will use the following rescue equipment:

  • VRS Assent and Descent rescue system.
  • Descent only rescue system.
  • Lightweight Emergency Descent Control System.

All those in your organisation involved in planning, carrying out, supervising andmanaging rescues from height in the work place.

Course content

  • This course incorporates the ANG1 course
  • Requirements for rescue (Work at Height Regulations 2005)
  • Contents of rescue systems
  • Site considerations (anchor points, drop zones, general observations)
  • Pre-use inspections & function checks (including practical session)
  • Setting up of equipment (including practical session)
  • Using equipment for evacuation and rescue (including practical session)

Training methods

Lectures, printed course material, practical demonstrations and hands-onexercises in inspecting, checking, setting up and using evacuation and rescueequipment.

Certification

Successful delegate will receive a certificate on completion.

PPE requirements

Trainees should provide their own safety footwear.

Course duration/Number of delegates

The course is designed for up to 6 delegates at any one time and is held over onefull working day, typically 09:00 - 16:00.
